NRS6312: Enable SSI Support for Lower Case letters in the password passed to the subsystem

Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 02:08:13 am    Client is in the process of experimenting and activating logic in zOS 1.7 to make use of upper and lower case letters in the password. He has requested we modify the Director to permit the passing of lower case passwords in the SSI interface. He has already managed to get this to work himself locally, but we need to back his effort up with suitable PTFs, etc.

Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 03:15:29 am    TND42351 modifies the SSI CSECT to no-op the TRANSLATE to UPPER case logic when we build the SSI or SSX buffers. NRS recommends anyone utilizing this PTF to insure the related APPLICATION definitions specify SSI=EXTENDED to active the SSX1ENCR flag to indicate to the Subsystem SSI code how to handle the incoming password
